The event called Funk Shui has been around for awhile, doing a few events each of the past few years, and now has reconfigured and reformed, Voltron style, with a heavyweight DJ lineup, tasty visuals and heavy hitting funk of all persuasions aimed at the dancefloor.

Pimp Daddy Suiki is a treasure trove of DJ skill, and musical knowledge. DJing and collecting music for more than 25 years, he has what must be one of the largest vinyl collections in the city, and what a collection it is. Classics and rare grooves, all spun on vinyl – give it a listen.

Dan has an extensive collection of deep and modern funk, classic soul and funk grooves from around the globe. He hopes you like it.

Slide is perhaps best known in Beijing for – aside from being well mannered, courteous and presentable - spinning and promoting Drum & Bass with The Syndicate. But this musical sponge has been soaking up funk flavors from Africa and Brazil on the side, meaning that a Slide funk set will have a rowdy Afrobeat segment, alongside a section of international funk grooves you won’t hear anywhere else in Beijing.

Bite Size Buddha and Martin Star two energized Funk DJs with tunes galore, are two of the guys behind the Funk*Fever parties. They’re not content until the crowd is moving. Loads of old grooves and classic tracks, aimed to make you move.

HBH VJ has VJed many places and parties – all over China and in some of the top clubs in the world in London, working with some seriously heavyweight DJs and record labels in the process. Locally he’s known for all sorts of creative endeavours; and as one of the top visual artists that we know, we’re proud have his creative, interesting and stimulating visuals for this event.

(Deep Funk is a underground genre of funk music which, unlike traditional mainstream funk, has a more soulful, rawer, grittier, and "heavier" sound. The term "deep funk" is also the name of the scene of collectors, DJ's, and musicians who are into deep funk as a genre.)
