The clean lines and muted interior of Yuki allow its Japanese fare to arrest your eyes and palate.
Both the five-piece tuna sashimi (RMB 30) and two-piece salmon sushi (RMB 18) were melt-in-your mouth fresh.
Though tasty in its butter sauce tinged with wasabi, the grilled cod (RMB 68) was disappointing in quantity.
The mixed tempura platter (RMB 68) contained several large pieces of semi-crispy Tiger prawns and vegetables,
and the flavorful miso soup (RMB 10) delivered its standard aromatic warmth. But the winner
was the soft shell crab and avocado sushi roll (RMB 60) topped with a dollop of caviar
– a crunchy delight striking a balance between the piquant wasabi and the cool avocado.
Unfortunately, the smartly dressed wait staff shouts an annoying greeting upon patrons’ arrival,
but one can hopefully tune it out after 20 kuai Asahi drafts and multiple sushi rolls.
